Female First Basketball Academy
Presented by Avalon Basketball
Why Female First?
At Avalon Basketball, we believe in building programs that reflect the needs of our community—and it's time to shine the spotlight where it belongs. The Female First Basketball Academy is a bold step forward in supporting the growth of girls’ basketball in Newfoundland. This isn’t a side program.
This is the program.
We’ve designed the Female First Academy as a dedicated space where young female athletes receive top-tier coaching, focused development, and leadership opportunities, all while building a strong sense of confidence and community.

A Space for Female Athletes to Thrive
The Female First Academy isn’t just about basketball—it’s about empowerment.
It’s about giving our girls:
A program designed specifically for their growth
Dedicated court time with no split focus
A female-first curriculum that emphasizes athletic development, self-confidence, and leadership
Regular guest speakers and mentors—including coaches, trainers, and women who are leaders in sport
We’re committed to creating an environment where our female athletes can see what they can be.
